Types of Locks We Fit
We fit the full range of locks used across Romford properties:
Euro Cylinder Locks
Euro cylinders are the most common lock type on UPVC and composite doors. They slot into the multipoint mechanism and drive the locking strip when you turn the key. We fit anti-snap cylinders as standard — these have a sacrificial break point that protects the working section if someone tries to snap the cylinder from outside. Ultion cylinders carry Sold Secure Diamond rating; Yale Superior cylinders meet TS007 3-star when paired with a matching handle.
Mortice Deadlocks and Insurance-Approved Locks
Mortice deadlocks fit into the body of a timber door and are operated by a key from both sides. Most insurance policies require a BS3621-rated mortice deadlock on all external timber doors. We fit five-lever mortice deadlocks from ERA, Chubb, and Yale that meet this standard. If your insurer has flagged your locks, we can upgrade them during a single visit.
UPVC Multipoint Mechanisms
Multipoint locks secure the door at several points along the edge using hooks, bolts, and rollers. When you lift the handle, all locking points engage simultaneously. These mechanisms are standard on UPVC and composite doors across Romford's newer builds. We replace faulty gearboxes, multipoint strips, and handles, and carry the most common sizes for ERA, Yale, Mila, and GU mechanisms.
